Welcome back to The Velvet Runway, and this Eco Natural Products Review, where I test the Natura Siberica Sculpting Face mask, a Danielle Laroche eye serum, Fito Organic Oils Natural Hair Masks and Savon de Marseille.
Eco Natural Products Review: Natural Products at an affordable price
If you remember, a few weeks ago, Cristina Nika wrote a guest post about organic products , where she wrote about all the benefits of “going green”, and provided some ideas of products across a range of categories.
Whilst, I was working on this post with Cristina, I was contacted by Eco Natural Products * and given the opportunity to pick and review some of their products. The company is dedicated to providing natural and organic products and they offer a very wide range, with anything from soap to anti-aging products, hair care and make-up. As I believe that it is important to be aware of what we are putting on our skin and to pay attention to the ingredients, I was delighted to take advantage of this opportunity.
I initially wanted to try some anti-ageing products and Andy from Eco Natural Products recommended the Danielle Laroche eye serum, and as I had already heard great things about Natura Siberica I was very keen to test one of their products too. After much deliberation as the product range was so extensive I also selected a soap and a hair mask, as my hair has suffered from its recent exposure to the Californian sun and is very dry at the moment.
See below for my thoughts on all four products.
Natura Siberica Sculpting face mask
The Natura Siberica Sculpting Face Mask (see here for the Natura Siberica range) was the first product I tested, and I was delighted with the results.
The mask, which costs £12,95 for 50ml, smells divine, and has a beautiful creamy texture. As soon as I applied it my skin felt cooler, and slightly tingly.
It contains Black Caviar Extract (a great source of proteins, amino acids, minerals and vitamins, to increase skin renewal, boost collagen and elastin production and provide antioxidant protection), as well as Organic Peppermint Oil (to tone and moisturise, and which is no doubt the ingredient that produces the slightly tingling effect). It also contains Organic Snow Cladonia extract to contribute to the skin’s regeneration and thus slow down the ageing processes.
You should apply it onto a clean face and neck, avoiding the eye area, for 10 -15 minutes then rinse with warm water. It can be used once to twice a week.
I loved the cooling effect of this mask and my skin felt smooth, refreshed and moisturised after use. I think it would be great to use before a party/ night out as it gives an immediate glowing effect and the cooling and sculpting effect would probably be enhanced by keeping the mask in the fridge. I would probably need to use it for longer to see the sculpting benefits however.
I was overall very impressed with this mask and will definitely be ordering it again.
Danielle Laroche eye serum
The second product I tried was the Danielle Laroche eye serum, which at just £8,40 for a 30ml bottle is an exceptionally good price for natural products (or any eye serum !)
This serum combines microalgae “Nannochloropsis Oculata” with Polysacchardides to instantly enhance the skin’s appearance with a high concentration of Vitamin C to promote the renewal of collagen and enhance skin over the longer term.
You should apply a few drops on clean skin around the eyes and tap gently until it’s absorbed. (Do not drag!).
I found that the serum had a pleasant, light texture and was easily absorbed. It smelt slightly of soap (which was not unpleasant) and it did produce an immediate smoothing/tightening effect and my eye area definitely felt more hydrated.
I would have to use it for longer, however, before I can comment on the long term impact.
FITO Organic Oils Natural hair masks
Next, I tried the FITO organic oils natural hair masks which at just £2,99 for 3 sachets are incredibly good value. After spending a month in the sun, my hair (especially the ends) is very dry and damaged, so this seemed like the obvious choice.
What I liked most about this product is that although it’s an oil, it has a creamy texture and the smell was heavenly.
You apply this for 3-5 minutes, then rinse off and wash your hair as normal. I used a whole sachet as my hair is very long and, as I said, very damaged, but I think if you have shorter/ less damaged hair, then half a sachet would be sufficient.
After using it once, my hair smelt gorgeous and was definitely softer to touch and easier to untangle and I also felt it gave my hair more volume. I imagine, however, that you would need to use it regularly in order to really get the full benefits and prevent damaged ends.
Savon de Marseille
Last, but not least, I tried the Savon de Marseille ‘almond’ soap, which makes me think of summer markets in Provence, and therefore holidays and that’s already a great start!
One of the things I love about this soap is that it is free from animal fats and is made entirely from vegetable oils. It has been made around Marseille for about 600 years and the traditional French recipe is still used to manufacture it today (although the original specification which allowed only the use of olive oil has been widened to allow other vegetable oils to be used). It is often recommended for dry and sensitive skin, but is suitable for all skin types.
This also smells heavenly, and my skin felt beautifully soft after using it, as in addition to being environmentally friendly, it also contains shea butter, which is known for its moisturising and even anti-wrinkle properties! .
So to conclude, I am really impressed with all of these natural products, as well as the customer service from the on-line store. I was very impressed with the Natura Siberica brand, and the hair mask was also lovely (my only slight request/ critiscim is that it would be easier to apply if it was in a pump dispenser bottle).

I’d love to try that hair mask and that soap. I’ve been searching for a natural soap that is good for sensitive skin. The ingredients in that sound like they’d be perfect. Great review!

Thank you Lili. I don’t have very sensitive skin, but I think the soap is very gentle, so it should be fine (My daughter has used it without any reaction and she has sensitive skin) 🙂
