The Ivy Hotel is the premiere luxury hotel in Baltimore’s historic Mt. Vernon neighborhood, where exclusive luxuries meet an inclusive experience.

Located in the Mount Vernon neighborhood, a cultural center that is Baltimore’s premier arts, dining, and nightlife destination, the Ivy Hotel is close to the Inner Harbor, University of Baltimore, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and the Walters Art Museum.

Gorgeous, romantic and welcoming, The Ivy embodies the soul of the city. Rosy brick walls, shining windows, and seventeen guest rooms and suites create a refuge of world-class hospitality in what was once a magnificent private home.

With just ten suites, seven rooms and luxurious common areas that could serve three to four times the number of guests, safety, serenity and relaxation are the cornerstones of this luxury “home from home” experience.

Everything offered by The Ivy, (except dinner and spa treatments), is included in your room rate, from lavish chef-made breakfasts and on-site activities to unlimited access to the Mansion Bar, afternoon tea in the tea room and a private car service to the harbor, casino or most destinations in the city.

The Ivy is a 19th Century mansion that opened as a hotel in June 2015 and has been fully restored to its former glory. True to its history, visiting The Ivy feels like staying at the home of a generous friend.

The Conservatory

The first room seen in The Ivy Hotel after entering through the lower lobby, The Conservatory, is a social space centered around an oversized fireplace radiating warmth, a beautifully restored piano which belongs to the
heirs of the original owners (and is encouraged to be put to use), floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the hotel’s courtyard and always-flowing Champagne!

The Tea Room

The Tea Room’s walls are covered in a mural painted by local artists. The room’s layout mimics a living room, where guests can read, play board games or have a drink by the fire. Daily afternoon tea is served here and is
complimentary for guests.

Huge palms, a fireplace, comfy chairs and sofas all lend to a feeling of luxurious comfort, and of being “home from home”

The Library

The Library

Leather-covered walls and gold tulle panels greet guests in the Library, just past the Tea Room. The Library offers an extensive collection of books, historic and otherwise, alongside an original fireplace

The Mansion Bar

The Mansion Bar houses a self-service, complimentary fully stocked bar, encouraging guests to pour their own classic cocktails, or get inventive and create new concoctions. The bar is open nearly 24/7, and only available to hotel guests

Dining

Upon reopening of The Ivy in October 2020 (post Covid closure), the on-site restaurant, Magdalena debuted as a new concept: Magdalena, a Maryland Bistro. The former fine-dining concept now features thoughtfully created elevated bistro fare inspired by the classic dishes of France, the comforts of England and the vast spirit of Baltimore. The seasonally evolving menu highlights a playful yet sophisticated take on classics driven by the bounty of the Chesapeake Bay region.

The team’s collective vision is to create a beautiful homage to Maryland cuisine that at once builds pride among locals and introduces visitors to an elevated take on iconic Baltimore dishes.

Half-street level, the restaurant offers seating for 75, including an outdoor courtyard, the mansion’s old treasury, a wine cellar, and a welcoming bar. Magdalena offers extensive award-winning wine and whiskey lists with two certified sommeliers on staff.

Mark Levy, acclaimed British chef formerly of The Point in the Adirondacks, remains at the helm of the kitchen.

Ingredients are sourced close to home and relationships with local farmers and purveyors are at the heart of the culinary philosophy.  A cheeky cocktail program, Wine Spectator awarded wine list, and revered whiskey collection complete a delightfully unmatched dining experience.
