Welcome back to The Velvet Runway and this feature about The Best Marrakech Hotspots to Enjoy an Indian Summer.
Marrakesh is one of the most famous and best-known cities in Morocco. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the gateway to the Sahara Dessert. It is renowned for its stunning architecture, unique culture , traditional food and shopping in its souks and bazaars, not to mention camel rides in the desert.
Surrounded by a vast palm grove, the medina in Marrakech is called the “red city” because of its buildings and ramparts of beaten clay, which were built during the residence of the Almohads. The heart of the medina is Jamaa el-Fna square, a vibrant marketplace, where European culture meets Africa and the Middle East, and where the past and present intertwine.
If you are planning a trip to Marrakech, here are our recommendations for the best hotspots to make the most of an Indian Summer.
The Best Marrakech Hotspots to Enjoy an Indian Summer.
Le Palais Ronsard, Relais et Chateaux 5*
Perfectly located in the heart of the Palmeraie, the Palais Ronsard has been designed for a new generation of travellers who are passionate about exploring Marrakech, but who also want to rejuvenate, taking advantage of the 20,000 m2 green park teeming with giant palm trees, century old olive trees and the roses of Pierre de Ronsard, which diffuse their soft and refined scent.
With 28 suites (including 6 private pavilions, all with heated pools), Palais Ronsard brings a new dimension to Marrakech, and is the perfect place for a getaway facing the Atlas Mountains.
The hotel boasts three restaurants, which offer the best of Moroccan cuisine, with a twist of Mediterranean and international influences, supplied from its own vegetable garden and masterfully led by starred chef Xavier Mathieu.
Not to mention all the areas dedicated to well-being: a fitness room, a spa, a sauna and a hammam. The Palais Ronsard shines by its attention to detail.
Designed entirely by the best Moroccan and European craftsmen, each piece of furniture and each plot of the garden are irrefutable proof of the passion of its creators, Aram Ohanian and Adriana Ohanian Karembeu, for the artisanal know-how and the unique art of living in Marrakech.
Bô Zin Restaurant
Located at the gates of Marrakech on the Ourika road, Bô Zin is one of the most upbeat addresses in the city that has quickly become a Marrakech hotspot.
You can enjoy Asian dishes and creative cocktails, all in a hushed atmosphere in the exotic garden, and if you choose, you can get up from the table between the main course and dessert to dance to the rhythm of the percussion under the starlit skies of Marrakech.
Bô-Zin was originally a private villa that has been enlarged over the years to become one of the favorite meeting spots in Marrakech.

Le Grand Café de La Poste
Located in the modern district of Guéliz, outside the walls of the Medina, Le Grand Café de la Poste was built in the 1920s when it was both a renowned café and a post office. It is said that Jacques Majorelle, sitting with General Lyautey, would have talked for hours about the lights and splendors of Marrakech.
In 2005, after being closed for 12 years, it was taken over by a French group, who also own the “Bô-zin” in Marrakech. The challenge was to revive this mythical place and give it back the cachet and allure it had at the beginning of the twentieth century.
Today, Le Grand Café de la Poste proudly overlooks the Place du 16 novembre. It is one of the city’s must-see addresses and has kept its original look: a Moroccan-style living space with an authentic decor of mosaics, green plants, drapes, mirrors and velvet furniture.
In the evening, the chic brasserie atmosphere becomes more intimate with soft lighting, white table cloths, music with exotic Eastern accents mixed with Jazz and dinner served by candlelight.
Similar in style to a Parisian brasserie, the restaurant’s menu is composed of traditional French dishes such as oysters or beef tartar, but intermingled with great Moroccan classics. The chef works in close collaboration with local producers in order to offer his customers tasty, seasonal and quality dishes.

SAHBI SAHBI (opening early November 2022)
SAHBI SAHBI, which means “soul mates” in Darija, is more than a restaurant, it is a meeting place for traditional Moroccan cuisine, run exclusively by women.
In Morocco, the kitchen is usually a hidden place, kept as a secret, which is the territory of the “DADAS“, women who pass on their recipes from generation to generation.
At SAHBI SAHBI (opening in November 2022) the secret will be revealed as the kitchen opens onto the dining room and so for the first time here, the cuisine and the know-how will be visible. You will be able to witness the cooks concocting and serving traditional dishes such as the numerous tagines, the pastilla and the renowned couscous which is offered every Friday for lunch in three different versions depending on the cereal used, the most unusual of which is corn.
The team is composed of a myriad of talents, regional know-how and houses an approach as rich in atmosphere as the melting pot of its inhabitants.
